Input Device  

Components known as input Devices let users enter commands, data, or program for processing by the CPU. Computer keyboards, which are much like typewriter keyboards are the most common input devices. Information typed at the keyboard is translated into a series of binary numbers that the CPU can manipulate.

Another common input devices, the mouse is a mechanical or optical device with buttons on the top and either a rolling ball or an optical sensor in it's base. To move the cursor on the display screen, the user moves the mouse around on a flat surface. The user selects operation, activates commands or creates or changes images on the screen by pressing buttons on the mouse.

Keyboard

The keyboard, which is the most commonly used input device, allow users to communicate with the PC thought keystrokes that represent data and commands. Every PC includes a keyboard in its standard package. The layout of a PC keyboard the alphabetic, numeric and special characters key can vary by continent, country or language. However with some minor exceptions, virtually all English language keyboards are the same.

Mouse

The mouse is a natural, inexpensive pointing device that has become a standard part of the PCs hardware. Introduced by Microsoft, but popularization by Apple MacIntosh, the PC mouse really gained popularity after Windows and it's graphical user interface (GUI) were released.
